BMW has updated its premium touring model K1600. Among the global updates, the motorcycle received a new dashboard and headlight.
So, it's time for us to update our front pods. To make the motorcycle not only sound good, but also look good, we decided to try to preserve the original design, while installing 6.5-inch acoustics. First we drew our grid design (similar to the original one, but for greater acoustics). After that, we realized that it would be very difficult to produce such meshes and decided to use standard ones, while reworking the design of the original part into which the mesh is inserted.
The design, as you can see, is very similar to the factory one. Next, the part made in a single copy is scanned. After this, a specially trained person (engineer) redraws it, removing all the irregularities and flaws that cannot be done by hand. In our case, one more element was added to the future plastic linings.
Next, a 3D printer was used, then a huge number of hours for post-processing and creating matrices.
In addition to podiums for midboss acoustics and overlays, it was necessary to make podiums for tweeters. Next, you can see what we have done.
Since all our parts are covered with artificial leather on top, we decided to do the same with the plastic trim above the instrument panel. You like? We really like it!
The customer also wanted to add rear acoustics to this bike. Now the audio system on his BMW K1600 is really loud.
The great news is that you can already order all this for your motorcycle in our online store!
