Three years ago, we installed our most powerful audio system at the time on this motorcycle. But only now, after so many projects, we finally get to tell you about it. Presenting the 2021 BMW K1600 Grand America.
What did we do?
Music. Lots of music.
In the front, we installed our standard kit: we replaced the stock 10 cm speakers with 16 cm speakers from Hertz (by the way, you can find them in our store ). And in the rear...
The owner of this motorcycle is a former (and now current) Honda Goldwing rider. And for Goldwing owners, the music has to be loud, bright, and definitely "not like everyone else's." So, the client wanted rear speaker mounts “like on the Goldwing”—meaning on the central trunk. We usually don’t do that, primarily for aesthetic reasons. But for this motorcycle, we found a compromise that worked for both us and the client. As a result, the Grand America received a dual rear setup: 16 cm mid-bass speakers on the side cases, 13 cm mid-bass speakers on the central trunk, and tweeters in the stock locations.
A 25 cm Kicker subwoofer found its place in the left side case.
Amplifiers? Three of them. Two on the sides and one under the seat. All cases, except for the one with the sub, are completely (!) free of equipment. This installation was not only done with quality in mind, but also designed to maximize useful space—no excess wiring and with a sleek look.
A modern navigator.
Back in 2021, BMW was still installing outdated GPS systems on their bikes. So, we replaced it with a modern waterproof smartphone and created a custom hood for it. Now, it has onboard navigation, plus access to YouTube and Apple Music.
Lighting.
Our signature addressable animated lighting. It looks stunning and is built to last.
Exterior style.
We reupholstered the seat, added a backrest for the rider, and updated some of the plastic parts with a stylish trim. It turned out great! What do you think?
